Commence Back To School

We have been busy little bees around here to say the least. So grab a cup of joe, or diet coke, or wine and settle in for a bit. It's a longy but goody ;)  We spent the last few weeks of Summer squeezing in what fun we could...ok and maybe I was a little manic counting down the days until I could squeeze in an hour of freedom.  Three, wild boys all Summer long definitely took it's toll on me. I am getting old after all. Come days end, I was s.p.e.n.t. We did a lot of swimming in our new pool and in true West fashion we go all out even then ; ) We are now into card and board games big time and as depicted below, I get very into it as well! We spend days outside running the property. Riding tractors, flying on our scooters. Getting boo boo's and jumping right back up so as not to miss a moment.  What I know for sure about this move from "Suburbia" to property is it is one of the single best choices we have made. It was a spur of the moment, one to...

So truth be told most of this post was written well over a week and a half ago, but as per usual, life got in the way.  And here we are, a trip to Louisiana and another lake vaca behind us. It has truly been a whirlwind the past two months. I am not sure of up from down right now and the frequent emotional tears seem to consummate that.  I think I am ready for life to slow downnnn.... And speaking of slowing down, about a week and a half ago, I took the boys to Barnes and Noble and as  I stepped off of the escalator I saw a woman looking at me.  We met eyes for a moment and she quickly said "I read your blog, I recognized you from it."  I felt like a wannabe celebrity, but most of all I was proud to show her Paxton tearing through the store the healthiest he has ever been. Which reminded me what I wrote above..... that  I really need to put the breaks on more often so I can update this blog that has been such a source of comfort for me. I think at this p...

The Lake 2012

It was as promised. Even with Tropical storm Debbie owning the place the entire time we were there.  Didn't stop us. Apparently we set up shop on the dock just as a tornado touched down 1/4 mile away across the lake, unbeknownst to us. Oopsie! The sun and the rain danced around each other the whole time, but we relaxed. We played. We laughed, a lot. We got pulled over...on a lake...oh yes we did. We tubed. We slept. We ate, way to much.  We made memories. Sweet, sweet memories that are much better in pictures than from my blubbering mouth. the best view in the world right there... my happy boys. their first year tubing.... mommy had to close her eyes at first fearless! so fearless mason appears bored ; ) not sure why he's not a model yet... ...chilaxin... best friends! ***************** And here I am slaloming for the first time. I am proud of this. Why you ask... because I have had three kids in 4 years,  I am old, rickety, ...

Remember in the last post when I wrote stay tuned cause shits about to get good... Well, indeed it did.  Looong story short.  My dad was adopted. By amazingggg parents I might add.  (My birth mom whom I don't keep in contact with was adopted too, so I, myself, am quite the "mutt" ; ) Anyway, my dads birth family found him a couple of months ago. Caught completely off guard with a random phone call  at work has multiplied our family by many. And did I mention they are the muthaload of people to by multiplied by too.  Kind, open, obsessed with family, do anything for you, tell it like it is, wish they were there all along kind of people.  Austin adored them and quite frankly for those who know us, if that boy loves you it's a given the rest of us will. He's kinda picky when it comes to letting down his guard, but you wouldn't have known it 2 hours into our first meeting. I found myself getting introspective at times when I really thought about the...
