My name is Jenn West and I started this blog right after the loss of our third baby in utero at 4 months. I went in for a routine ultrasound only to receive the shocking news that the baby had passed. I needed an outlet to heal at the time. Little did I know what this blog would become a year later when we gave birth to our fourth baby, a boy, Paxton who was born with only half a heart. Paxton was diagnosed in utero at 33 weeks with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Again, just when I thought we were out of the woods with the pregnancy, my world was turned completely upside down. Here locally, we were not given a positive diagnosis for him and I spent that weekend on bended knee, in the fetal position begging God to save our baby! As luck and faith would have it, he made it, and with flying colors I might add!
His story is not yet over, but if you are interested in reading about it from the beginning you can go to the archives and start in September of 2009 when we learned of his diagnosis. I am working on getting a link of just his story up.
Paxton also has two brothers who are now 4 and 5. Yes, I am the Mama of 3 gorgeous boys, 4 if you count my husband who works amazingly hard every single day to take care of his family!
Austin is 5 "and a half!!!!" and is the kindest, sweetest, most gentle little man you will ever meet. He is an old, sensitive soul and blows me away by his intelligence.
Mason is now 4 and is our wild child, no doubt! He is a free spirited little boy who runs wild, climbs and finds trouble where trouble is to be had. Yet, he will turn around and snuggle with the best of them!
Every day as I watch my boys grow and mature, I am in awe. They astound me with how much they know, learn and soak up. They teach me so much and every day is a gift to see what it will bring with my house full of boys! This blog continues to be a way for me to heal, accept and remember!
I look back and see how far we have come and can be nothing but proud!
